Goal: Be first to own a Fancy Wardrobe, Limousine, Expensive Estate and Country Club Membership, hold at least $1,000,000 cash, and have zero bills.
Bills: Every normal pre-roll bill costs $20,000 to pay. Current beta tables let the active player choose any whole number from zero through the maximum currently affordable before rolling. Legacy test tables retain Pay 1 / Pay 2 / Pay 3.
Lucky Street: You may enter only with zero bills. It is one-way.
Work Zone: Arrive with bills, collect 2 more, lose 1 turn, then get 2 bills paid at no cost before normal play resumes. A debt-free direct landing rerolls.
STOP: Everyone stops at O-21/O-43. With bills, choose PAY ALL at $20,000 each when affordable or MOVE AHEAD 2; if PAY ALL is unaffordable, MOVE AHEAD 2 is required. With no bills, collect $50,000.
Bankruptcy: At 35+ bills, you may voluntarily declare bankruptcy: reset to $0 cash and 5 bills, move forward to the next Work Zone, and lose one turn. The warning countdown begins at 25 bills. If you own one or more achievements, surrender one; if you own none, the surrender step is skipped. Normal Work Zone service does not stack onto bankruptcy.
Lucky Break began in 1989 as a playful race through the absurd economics of adult life: bills, work, lucky windfalls, expensive tastes, and the occasional chance to start living large.
The goal is simple: shed the debt, build the lifestyle, and be the first player to own a Fancy Wardrobe, Limousine, Expensive Estate and Country Club Membership while holding at least $1,000,000 cash with zero bills.
Decades after the original game was created, Lucky Break is getting a new life as both a physical board game and a live browser game for 2–6 players.
All cash is lost, all current bills are wiped out, you restart with 5 bills, move forward to the next Work Zone, and lose one turn. If you own one or more achievements, you must surrender one. If you own none, that step is skipped.
